A Seasons Change

The Last Moments of Summer! Photo: Sheldon Baszh Seize the Day: The last two weeks of summer are here! It’s been an incredible year. After returning from traveling, I settled into the fast pace of being on the organizing committees for some of most soul feeding grassroots events Vancouver has seen. What an amazing and diverse group of people. My Madskillz Peeps always throw down an amazing show, but this year, during the finale, the whole audience jumped out of their seats screaming with pure exhilaration! I am humbled to be amongst so many great talents. The First Vancouver Busker Festival team was so sweet and hard working. The festival was a hit with this getting-more-fun city! The talent was out of this world, as these buskers start their shows with 5 club torches and their finales are feats of complete strength! Again, the chances to meet these great artists are the best moments of my life. Since then: I attended the Victoria Busker Festival’s second year, and it was a gauntlet of shows! After that, I taught some of the best workshops I have ever taught at the Light and Motion Prop festival. The Vancouver Children’s Festival is a highlight of my summer; I have been working with them since 2007 teaching all around circus prop-drop in workshops. The Richmond Maritime Festival was an amazing new addition to the summer with gumboots and all! On Sunday, I will fly into Toronto to begin working with the ScotiaBank Busker Festival. This is my last gig of the summer! BOO! If you live in the area, and haven’t seen me...

Joining The Busking Project!!

So, wow. Last night I had a dream that I jumped off the moon with a parachute in my space suit costume to earth. It’s a sign, really, one that knows that I am leaping into a beautiful adventure, arriving in reality and reality is truly a dream. The reality is that I’ve been invited to join The Busking Project for the last leg of their journey through South America. What an amazing opportunity to be part of this incredible adventure and wonderful contribution to the Street Arts community.  I can often be very critical of various causes, but my every part of my soul supports what this team has created already, and wants to help them fulfill this dream to it’s greatest potential. I believe this could be the film that represents street art for what it’s really worth in the world as a contribution to the real life wonders of impromptu art in it’s full glory. It is so well developed in it’s film quality and production, in the way it captures the people they meet, and in the intentions of the team themselves. Can you be in love with a project? These guys have really captured a dream I hadn’t known existed (yet have already been fulfilling myself on a small scale). I can’t believe I get to join them to help! It’s amazing when something you never imagined flies into your life and happens to be the most incredible thing you’ve ever seen. Awesome. We need your help to keep this dream alive. The Busking Project is looking for Sponsors or Donations to help with...

Harbourfront Busking

This past July I spent busking at the Toronto Harbourfront and I had an amazing time. The fellow street performers were amazing to work with, the systems they had in place for performers were great, the location was so beautiful and of course the money was good. Here is a small video my friend Margo created for...
