Dawn has been offered an opportunity to tour with SPARK circus AGAIN this winter!! This circus is a troupe of 15-20 people who travel to orphanages on the Thailand/Burma boarder for 6 weeks.  Spark helps the orphanages by giving them toys, teaching circus skills and a meal to them and of course there will be a grand show every night! Dawn along with her long time friend, Ariel will be leaving from Vancouver January 13, 2012 and returning on February 28th! This includes 2 fulls weeks of fund-raising shows, and then 3 weeks of touring the camps.

Here is a small video I have made that tells the story of last year.

This is the official video for the project:

We need donations for this project to happen! Donations, go directly to the orphanage and administration getting to the camps. This helps us give the children toys, fuel for the grand finale fire show, but most of all the joy from seeing what play can do for the spirit. The orphanage helps keep children out of heavy work conditions that they would otherwise have to face if they are not supported. Instead, these children get educated at these schools, therefore helping their chances for a future.

I am only at $400 of my $1000 goal! Please donate as soon as you can! Anything helps, $5, $10 or $20 from each person I know would make a HUGE difference! Donate now!

* if you donate $500 or more we can get a tax credit for you.

Here is a quote from the brochure:

Over 200,000 refugees line the borders of Thailand and Burma, held in refugee camps that can barely manage to provide for basic necessities. Tens of thousands of these refugees are children – children who have been traumatized by the ongoing war waged by the Burmese military dictatorship against the regions hill-tribes. Here they end up in the camps or living illegally along the border regions, at huge risk of being taken into the sex trade, suffering malnourishment and other ongoing threats to their well being  and lives. In addition to basic necessities like shelter, clothes, food and education, children also need hope, joy and play.

There is 2 fundraisers for this project. Above, the donations go directly to  fund-raising $1000 that will go directly to SPARK and to the children’s needs (toys, a meal, etc).

The second is for my own personal travel costs. This journey has begun but I still fundraising  for my costs to attend this project. As an artist, this is a difficult project to do, as it costs me a lot in travel. Spark cannot exist without those who volunteer their time to make these kids happy. If you help me get there, this directly benefits the children as we teach them how to play and show them wonderous skills. This personal fundraiser will cover some flight costs, insurance and accommodations, which approximately cost $2000.

Donate now!

Thank you!
